AYURVEDA and ASTROLOGICAL TRANSITS

VATA : Mercury, Uranus, Saturn

PITTA : Mars, Pluto, Sun, Jupiter

KAPHA : Venus, Moon, Jupiter, Neptune

Specific astrological transits of the planets to our natal ones can bring about an increase in one of our natural dosha. For example, a hard transit of Uranus to a natal Mercury can increase Vata. If we have a nervous temperament or a fragile Vata constitution, we may feel more nervous and agitated, our mind may be frazzled caused by too much thinking or communication influx. In this case, a pacifying Vata diet would be advised to calm and stabilize. A nice Abhyanga massage would be reassuring and conforting as well as hydrating for the dried out skin.

Similarly a Jupiter-Moon or Venus transit can be bad for diet and increase Kapha especially if in the earth sign of Taurus.

A little spicy food with regular exercise, as well as keeping a tight vigilance on sweets and salt are suggested.

A strong Pluto/Mars transit can bring about intense energies and focus but also passionate outbursts. Stomach acidity can result, and/or frustration or headaches especially if Saturn is involved. To soften, regular meditation, cooling foods, clean diet and regular visits to the country, in the forest or by a lake, as well as avoidance of alcohol would help avoid aggravating a Pitta already stimulated.
